Welcome to the Body Art Facility Licensing site. Public Act 375, which was enacted in December of 2010, indicates that individuals shall not tattoo, brand, or perform body piercing on another individual unless that tattooing, branding, or body piercing occurs at a body art facility licensed by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
Owners or operators of body art facilities will be required to apply for a body art facility license through MDHHS.
For first time applicants or those planning to renovate an existing licensed body art facility, be sure to contact the local health department that has jurisdiction for licensure, to assure that a license may be issued before applying. A site plan and/or local permits may be needed.
If you are a current licensee or have a pending application, please enter your user name and password. If you have never used MyLicense please click on the "Register Your Facility" link on the left to create your user name and password.
